A Bit Bookish

The name's Luna.
24/Los Angeles/wannabe blogger & researcher
Just another freak in the Freak Kingdom.
A place for me to ramble about books I love... also probably the only blog I'll ever have that will keep its theme. I don't want my page to be a mess so I'm only going to shelve books starting with what I've read in the past year.
I'm not always eloquent, and I'm certainly not pretentious. I am just a huge nerd who lurks in used bookstores and likes to read and do research for fun.
Geeks unite.

Reading progress update: I've read 100%.

Batman: Arkham Asylum - A Serious House on Serious Earth - Grant Morrison, Dave McKean

I see why everyone makes a big deal about this graphic novel, it's very well done. The story of Arkham is just as disturbing and strange as you'd expect it to be. The art is incredibly unique and I think fits with the vibe of the madhouse perfectly. My only complaint is that sometimes I wanted to see more; the art style is sort of grainy and hard to see on purpose, like you're half mad and wandering through a dark asylum, so it makes sense. But I guess that's just me being a creep- I wanted to see more of the asylum and how horrible it was.

Oh and the bat thing with Arkham's mother seemed like a bit of a stretch. Like, I get it. It works, you know, it's a comic book. But it was just so out of the blue. Also, sucks for Arkham that he spent his last years carving a binding spell into the floor with his fingernail that doesn't even work! Womp womp. :D
